Had a great day today at Bristol Orchard school, as part of the Natural England funded Wild City project , today the students looked at plant mutations and their causes the mutations are called “Galls” ,caused by tiny wasps injecting an egg into the oak buds in spring mutating the flower to build a re enforced home for the wasp larvae working with the enrichment clubs where the students set up a science lab to find out what dastardly deeds were going on inside acorns
