A half-day workshop within the Stoke Park Estate learning, identifying, sampling or utilising the trees & plants found in the park

Join Steve England on a half-day workshop within the beautiful Stoke Park Estate, for a course covering both Wild Foods and Practical Plants, learning, identifying, foraging and utilsing the plants, trees and edibles available within and around the park once the days start drawing in.

Learn how to identify the plants to taste and which to avoid and discover the wild foods from grasslands, woodland and hedgerows. Learn the species suitable for woodcraft and fire and get hands-on with materials we find. Learn to identify edible trees such as lime and useful trees such as willow.

Led by award-winning horticulturalist & conservationist, Steve England, this fun and informative course is a rare chance to discover the array of plants and trees on offer, find out about poisonous look-alikes, understand how to make the most of your surroundings and learn the importance of conservation for your future foraging adventures.

Booking essential and very limited places for this one-off private course. Over 16’s.

FAQs

Are there ID or minimum age requirements to enter the event?

Yes – individuals attending should be over 16, this is an event designed for adults to attend and isn’t focused on activities for children. Foraging and bushcraft requires good understanding of what you are looking at.

What can I bring into the event?

Feel free to bring drinks, snacks, your camera, and please wear the appropriate clothing and footwear for half a day in the outdoors!

Ticket price + Booking Fee

Ticket prices shown INCLUDE EVENTBRITE BOOKING FEE (£0.49 + 6.5% per ticket), which has slightly increased due to additional details needing to be collected for the NHS Test and Trace system.

This event is aimed at those over 16 years old. For children under this age, we recommend finding one of our Family based events, which includes family tickets.

Cancellation/Postponing due to Poor Weather

SE Outdoor Learning events take place outdoors, and therefore unfortunately we may need to be postponed or cancelled in the days leading up to the event if it seems that the weather will be too poor for it to be run safely. We will always aim to confirm cancellation of the event 24 – 48 hours in advance (though on very rare occassions, sudden weather changes may mean its closer than this). Please keep an eye on your emails and Facebook for information regarding this. If you cannot make the postponed date, please request a refund and we will be able to issue this for you asap.

COVID UPDATE – PLEASE READ BEFORE BOOKING

As with other organisations and businesses, SEOL is taking a number of precautions to help keep you and us safe ,and are doing what we can to ensure we can now once again begin running walks and tours in a safe, comfortable and enjoyable way.

Please remain courteous, follow current government guidelines and  find out more about our Covid-safe procedures on www.steveengland.co.uk
